Westmont Chamber Hosts Annual
Awards Dinner
Westmont Community Awards Presented at Chamber Event
Westmont, Illinois, March 8, 2007 – The Westmont Chamber of
Commerce and Tourism Bureau (WCCTB) hosted the Annual Awards Dinner
to recognize area individuals and businesses. The Awards Dinner was
held on March 7th at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort and was attended
by over 100 local business, civic and community volunteer leaders.
Westmont Mayor William Rahn pointed out that this award program “Showcased
the many examples of community leadership, volunteerism and forward
investments being made in Westmont on a daily basis.” At this
gala event, the following special recognitions were presented:
2006 WCCTB Appreciation Awards were
presented to Chamber members with businesses located along Chicago – Naperville
Avenue in recognition of their extraordinary efforts required to
conduct business during

The 2006 Westmont Community Improvement
Awards recognizes individual business property
owners and businesses that have improved the appearance
of their property. Community Improvement Awards for 2006 were presented

The 2006 Educator-of-the-Year Award recognizes
a local Educator for their outstanding efforts in their field
and to the betterment
of
the Village of Westmont. This award was presented to Mr.
John Soldwedel from Westmont High School. This
was the first-ever Educator-of-the-Year Award presented.
The 2006 Public Safety Officer-of-the-Year Award recognizes
a local emergency medical technician, fire fighter, or law enforcement
officer
for their outstanding efforts in their field and to the betterment
of Westmont. This award was presented to Westmont Deputy
Chief of Police Thomas Mulhearn. This was the
first-ever Public Safety Award presented.
The
2006 Dick Busse Business-of-the-Year
Award recognizes
a Chamber business that has excelled in community service, business
promotion,
civic responsibility and contributions to the betterment of
the Chamber and Westmont.
This award was presented
to David
LaBrash, representing
Clarendon Hills Bank.
The 2006 President’s Award recognizes
an individual who has performed outstanding service to the Chamber
and the Westmont Community,
based on time, talents and abilities. This award was presented to
Joseph Moffa, Mayslake Village.
2006 Westmont Citizen-of-the-Year Award recognizes
an individual that resides in Westmont and that has demonstrates
exceptional community
involvement and leadership. This award was presented to resident
Greg
Pantke by Westmont Mayor William Rahn.
WCCTB President Frank Brady noted
that “Over one-hundred
Westmont area residents, business owners, and civic leaders
attended this
Awards program to demonstrate support for our community. The
Chamber is proud
to recognize the individuals and businesses that help contribute
to the growth and success of Westmont, in a manner that keeps
Westmont a progressive Village.”
